A person in their 50s isn't in the best position to survive a tree fall because their bones become more fragile and weak with age.
The fishing industry employs people whose jobs are both physically demanding and fraught with risk. Storms can come at any time, toppling the ship, and the guys are out on the river somewhere, aging rapidly. They risk back injuries or even drowning if they try to do the labor that is both heavy and hazardous. Nonetheless, working outside poses less of a threat than other occupations.
Being on the road all day and having strict deadlines to meet is a dangerous but lucrative job for truck drivers. Truck drivers will put themselves and others in risk by driving for long periods of time without getting enough sleep. Because long periods of time spent traveling are harmful to their health, truck drivers in their 60s are putting themselves in danger. Their lack of sleep and excessive fast food consumption will have a negative impact on their health.
Every one of us needs to pay more attention to the air we breathe and the things we put into our bodies as we become older. The meals provided by our employers are often unhealthy and lacking in variety.
We do more harm than good to our bodies and minds when we force ourselves to get money. A good night's sleep is essential for a healthy mind and body, much as a balanced diet and regular exercise prevent dehydration, hypertension, and other ailments. Fractures are more likely to occur in later life if we don't take care of our bones now by eating right and exercising regularly.
